WEIGHTS FOR FIRST DAY Press Association. WELLINGTON, Thursday. Mr. H. Coyle has declared the following handicaps for the opening day of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s autumn meeting, to be held at Hastings on April 27 and 28:

REMINDERS ! Owners and trainers will not forget that nominations for the Great Northern Hurdles, Great Northern Steeplechase, Winter Steeplechase, Cornwall, King George and York Handicaps, races to be decided at the winter meeting of the Auckland Racing Club, wliifcli is held on June 2, 4 and 6, will close with the secretary, Mr. W. S. Spence, at 5 p.m., Friday, April 20. A general list of entries for the same meeting will be received up till 5 p.m., Friday, May 4. Nominations for the winter meeting of the Wanganui Jockey Club, which is to be held on May 17 and 19, are due to close at S p.m., Monday, April 30. Handicaps will be declared on Monday, May 7. The Egmont Racing Club will hold its winter fixture on May 10 and 12, and entries will be received up till 8.30 p.m., Friday, April 20. The weights are due to appear on Monday, April 30. Racing men will not forget that acceptances for the Waikato Racing Club’s meeting, which comes up for decision on April 28 and 30, will close at 5 p.m. on Monday next.
