MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
SEASON’S BRIGHT OUTLOOK The Management Committee of the Auckland Football Association met last evening, Mr. A. Menzies presiding. The question of suspended players from one code participating in another dui'ing the term of sentence, also a reciprocal arrangement between the winter sports regarding unfinancial players, was raised. After discussion the question was deferred, pending the result of unofficial negotiations at present proceeding. The management decided that it would support the general principle of a tour of Australia by New Zealand school boys.
The committee’approved a suggestion for the running of the English trophy competition on the basis of each of the major associations guaranteeing £IOO, the gates to be pooled and profits divided among the participants. It was felt that the best draw would be for Otago and Cautley to visit Auckland, and Auckland to visit Wellington. It was decided that players in the senior grade should in future wear numbers on their jerseys.
