HEAD-ON IMPACT
AUCKLANDER 'BADLY HURT Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, To-day. As the result of a motor-car collision late yesterday afternoon on the top of the hill at the bend of the road between Matamau and Ormondvi'le, Horace Walters, a single man, aged 23, of Auckland, si now in the Dannevirke Hospital in a critical condition. A small three-seater car driven by Mr. Bert Holly, a managing salesman, of Auckland, who had with him three other young men, was approaching Dannevirke when it met in a headon collision with another car driven by Ray Burton, a motor salesman, of Palmerston North. Walters, who was in the front seat with Holly, was not thrown out, but received the full force of the impact and was seriously injured internally. None of the others were hurt. Walters was operated on during the night. His codnition is low.
