Racing Riders In Australia

Stratton for England & East With His “Bugs”

Spencer Stratton has heard the call of the English motor-cycle racing promoters and left Sydney recently on his way to England. He has now recovered from his nasty fall at the Speedway Royal, a month ago, and intends to race in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth before he leaves Australia. The Sydney “Daily Guardian” says: “Certainly the' Enzed rider proved himself in Sydney. His ‘scalps’ include the all-powers track record at Maroubra (103.8 m.p.h.), the 3 i h.p. record (98 m.p.h.), the five miles track record (3min 57 3-ssec) at Penrith.” Well known throughout Australia and New Zealand as a racing driver, and also as an engine tuner of no mean ability, A. E. C. (Charlie) East, has thrown in his lot with the two Taylor brothers, who are N.S.W. agents for Bugatti cars.

The erstwhile Muriwai favourite will concentrate not only on tuning “Bugs,” but also on sports and racing cars of all descriptions. He can be depended on to get an extra few miles out of any bus.
