GALLOPS THIS MORNING Press Association. PALMERSTON X., To-day. Brilliant conditions following rain prevailed this morning, when a large contingent of horses worked at Awapuni. Not a great deal of fast work was attempted. Puwhero and Royal Heather sallied round a gdod pace and Mister Gamp finished stronger than Son o’ Mine at the end of seven in 1.41. Keddar had the measure of Shining Star over six in 1.22, and Lin : Arlington drew away from Inflame in the straight at the end of five in 1.7. Satrap and Hyanna were companions over six furlongs, finishing on terms in 1.20. Ivaiti wa.s holding an advantage over Dobbin at the end of five in 1.5, and Addlepate had two lengths’ advantage on Kilmiss over six in 1.21. I Tresham hopped off at the six-fur- j long post, to run the last five com- ; fortably in 1.9. Always led Patearoa home over five i in 1.7. Shirley, High Disdain and Talisker have been scratched for the Manawatu Stakes on the second day.
