MARLBOROUGH’S FIXTURE ACCEPTORS FOR SATURDAY Press Association. WELLINGTON, Monday. i Acceptances for the first day of the ! Marlborough Racing Clubs, autumn meeting next Saturday are:
Couldn’t Keep Going The good-looking son of Depredation, Master Clements, displayed brilliancy at the commencement of the Maiden Plate at Avondale and essayed to lead the field. He was not long in that position, however, and steadily began to drift, eventually being tailed off at the finish. Master Clements has indicated speed in several of his essays -at Ellerslie, but up till the present has failed to reproduce his track form. One to Remember The Valkyrian three-year-old, Vallar, who commenced his career by notching a win at Pukekohe a few weeks back, is going to prove a useful sort. He was a runner in the Chevalier Handicap at Avondale, and although lie did not begin with outstanding brilliancy, he soon ran into the van and was a couple of lengtKs in advance when the two-fur-long straight was reached. He hung on surprisingly well, too, and when the post was passed he was just out of a place. It may pay to remember this chestnut in his next few attempts.
