Difficulty in Berthing.—The heavy weather this morning made it ratehr difficult to berth the Tofua when she arrived from the islands. As the vessel, assisted by a tug, neared the end of Prince’s Wharf, she ground against the fenders and splintered some of them. However, as this is the object of placing the wooden posts there, they were only performing their rightful duty. Some paint was scraped off the Tofua’s side, but no damage was done to the vessel.
