POWER RETICULATION

WAITEMATA BOARD’S REPORT

It was reported, at a meeting of the Waitemata Power Board, presided over this morning by Mr. J. W. Hayden, that poling in the Taupaki extension had been completed to the termination of the high-tension line at Waitakere, and the wiring had been completed on the stretch between Waitakere and Taupaki. Short extensions were in course of construction on Sunnyside Road, Henderson; Matua Road, Huapai; Wharf Road, Te Atatu; Fairview Road, Glen Eden; College Road, Northcote; and Waitemata Road, Takapuna. Ad additional bank of transformers had been installed at the New Lynn brick works; six street lights had been put in operation in the Kaukapakapa district. The Albany extension would be livened as soon as the transformers were ready for service, and a start would be made on the Brown’s Bay extension. The secretary and treasurer submitted that gross sales of current for March amounted to £6,214 19s 6d compared with £2,057 13s Sd for the corresponding month last year. It was decided to purchase from the Returned Soldiers’ Association* a poppy wreath to be placed on the Cenotaph on Anzac Day. Bad debts amounting to £l2B Is 9d, being .001 per cent, of the revenue, were considered to be a satisfactorily small total and it was decided to write them off.
