SEAMAN MISSES SHIP DAYS OF MISERY FOLLOW Fate must have laughed when Stephen Charles Gregory, aged 23, went to the pictures in Wellington. His present misery dates from that day. Gregory pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of breaking six windows valued *at £l. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that accused, who was a seaman, had missed his boat In Wellington through going to the pictures in the afternoon. He came on to Auckland, but could get no work and grew despondent. He smashed the windows while in a melancholy state, and made no secret of his offence. He was convicted and ordered to pay for the damage done. Tn the meantime the Salvation Army will rare for him.
