Where they step on it! The long, straight (it stretches over two furlongs) on the new course at Avondale. It is 99 feet wide all round, and is nicely banked on the turns. The picture was taken at the bottom of the straight, and the judge’s box can be seen in the distance, with the totalisator and stands (soon to be replaced by modern structures) on the left. It can safely be said that there is not a better racing track in the Dominion.
