A DRAMATIC RESCUE
GERMAN WRITER’S ESCAPE STRANGE SCENE IN COURT (United P. A. —By Telegraph — Copyright.) Times Cable. BERLIN, Wednesday. Herr Braun’s fiancee, Olga Benario, Planned his successful escape from a Berlin court, as described in earlier messages. She is a daughter of a Munich lawyer, and she left home in 1926 to follow Communist ideals. She was recently employed by the Russian Trade Delegation, but was discharged last week. The girl was permitted to s ee Herr Braun for a few minutes every day and to take him newspapers, food and flowers. Their interviews always took place fo the judge’s room under a judge’s eyes. The. escape was fixed for Herr Braun’s last appearance at the Moaoit Court, when the preparatory evidence was completed, pending his removal for trial to Leipzig. Herr Braun and five other persons are charged with having formulated revolutionary schemes, with being in Possession of incriminating literafore and with having sprer, ' disaffecTh Q * n J* 1 ® Reichswehr and the Navy. ,“ e raiders stormed the court and ejd revolvers at the heads of the ]u dge and warders while Herr Braun his fiancee fled.
