Railway and Road Services.—With regard to its taking over of the bus services from Kowhai Bush, Springfield and Coalgate to Christchurch, the Railway Department has issued a statement saying that this does not foreshadow a genex-al policy of Govern- | ment acquisition of road services, but | is to try o.ut the possibilities of road transport in Canterbury.—Press AsJ sociation.
