WINTER FARES
RAILWAY INNOVATION EXCURSION RATES IN MAY Another innovation to be instituted by the Railways Department Is the issue of holiday excursion fares throughout New Zealand for the winter school vacation. These tickets will be issued from May 3 to May 16 and will be available for return up to June 2. Previously only scholars attending the various colleges and schools and teachers were allowed holiday excursion fares for this period, and it was necessary for scholars to have certificates signed by a master. This regulation has now been done away with and anyone will now be allowed to travel at cheap rates. The new fares will be of considerable benefit to farmers and others who wish to go on holiday during the winter months. The tickets will be available to and from any officered station in the North or South Islands.
