WORLD’S YOUNGEST JOCKEY “BORN IN THE SADDLE” The youngest successful jockey in the world! Little Gracie Andrews arrived from Cowra recently to take part in the Sydney Show. Just seven years old and weighing only 2st 101 b, the little girl, who is the daughter of Mr. Phil Andrews, the prominent trotting owner, driver, and trainer, of Cowra. is a champion in embryo, and will be an unusual treat for the show crowds. “Born in the saddle,” she made her debut in public at the Cowra show last year when only six years old —an absurdly tiny figure —on her handsome mount, Sir Vale. Starting from 95 yards behind, she steered her horse to victory—probably the youngest jockey in the world to ride a winning trotter against all-comers. Fresh victories were won by the diminutive rider at Eugowra a.nd Blayney, her clever handling of her mount narrowly averting an accident at the Blayney show. Starting from 70 yards behind, she overhauled the whole field in fine style, set up a good lead, and won by half a length, amid great enthusiasm. The tiny “horsewoman” will delignt the watchers about the ring during the next few days, riding her father s trotter. Sir Vale, unless her weight or lack of it—debars her from the event'
