WHANGAREI UNION GOOD YEAR’S WORK (From Our Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, To-day. The Whangarei Rugby Football Union held its annual meeting last evening. Mr. R. Warner presided over a large attendance. The report showed that the past season had been a successful one. The senior representatives won the match against the Northern SubUnions and lost a challenge match for the Harding Shield. The junior representatives defeated Northern Wairoa for the Brake Shield, and were defeated by Kaipara. The sum of £IOO has been placed on fixed deposit, and the insurance fund, after a very difficult year, stood £47 in credit. The gate takings at club matches totalled £l6l, and other fixtures yielded £152.
