Mr. John Barr, city librarian, left by the Aorangi to-day for England on a six months’ tour. He will return through South Africa and Australia. Mr. J. K. Lowe, district engineer Auckland Railways, returned from Wellington by th 6 Limited this morning. The Rev. E. T. Olds will arrive from Wellington on Friday to take up the position of pastor at the Mount Eden Methodist Church. Paymaster Lieut.-Commander E. N. K. Fletcher, secretary to the Navy Office, Wellington, left by train for the South last evening.

Mr. P. B. Nichol, representative of the British Foreign Office in New Zealand, is at present in Auckland. He is at the Northern Club.

Bond-James, of the “London Missionary Society, who have been stationed at Rarotonga, arrived in Wellington by the Tahiti. They will leave later for England.

Mr. J. M. Reid, London manager of the Loan and Mercantile Agency, accompanied by Mr. J. W. Brodie and Mr. W. Esson, arrived in Wellington by the Marama.

Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Smith, of I.ondon. after a two months’ tour of the North Island, leave Auckland to-day by the Aorangi for Vancouver and British Columbia.

Mr. E. J. Righton, president of the New Zealand Exhibitors’ Association, who will leave on Friday on a Avorld tour, will be entertained by members of the Auckland film industry at luncheon to-morrow at the Pacific Club.

The Rev. Percival Watson, of Brisbane, has been elected president of the Congregational Union of Australia and New Zealand, in succession to the Rev. J. E. James, who has left Australia for England.

Captain A. R. W. Curtis, who recently relinquished his position as military secretary to Lord Stonehaven, left for England by the Ororisay last week.
