There is a reported possibility that the Pacific Cable Company may be taken over by a syndicate formed by Jhe Eastern Telegraph Company and the Marconi Wireless Company. Negotiations for amalgamation have been going on. They followed the recent London conference, and if they are accomplished the other companies are likely to absorb the Pacific con-cern.-—a. and N.Z.
