OLD CARGO WHARF

MUST BE DEMOLISHED The maintenance of the old cargo wharf at Devonport would cost £4OO a year, athough it would probably stand for a number of years if left entirely alone. This report was given to the Harbour Board yesterday, when it was considering the application of yachtsmen and residents of Xorth Shore that the wharf should not be demolished. It was explained that after the yachtsmen had been promised accommodation on the new cargo wharf they had seemed satisfied. The Hon. E. W. Alison asked that ihe old wharf should be allowed to remain until the new accommodation was ready, and this was promised, but it. was decided that the wharf must be demolished
