Young, has returned to Wellington from the north. The Minister of Public Works, the Hon. K. S. Williams, who spent Easter in Auckland, went south to Wellington lust evening. Mr. J- Hislop, Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs, who has been staying in Auckland, left for Rotorua this rrorning. Captain J. R. Middleton, D. 5.0.. R.N., Officer Commanding Royal Naval Reserves, left Auckland for the South last evening. Commissioner Hay, of the Salvation \rmy, together with Mrs. Hay, travelled south on the Limited express last evening. Mr. H. S. Wilding, secretary of John Court, Limited, is to leave by the aorangi to-morrow on a six months’ business visit to America and Britain. Father Bleakly, parish priest of Hamilton, arrived in Auckland yesterday to join the Aorangi. He is on his way to Ireland. Mr. F. J. Jones, until recently chairman of the Railway Board, wall leave ior England by the Aorangi to-mor-row. He is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. G. P. Lynde, chief mechanical engineer, New Zealand Government Railways, who has been visiting Australia, returned to Auckland yesterday by the Aorangi. Mr. George H. Scott, of San Francisco, who has been visiting the Dominion after an absence of 23 years, will leave for America by the Aorangi to-morrow. Mr. J. F. Mendelssohn, who arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Aorangi, will leave later in the week for Rotorua on a health visit. While in Auckland Mr. Mendelssohn is at the Hotel Cargen. Sir Francis Boys, of Christchurch, left for Rotorua to-day. He will return to-morrow and will spend a few days in Auckland before sailing for England. Mr. Carrick Robertson and Dr. W. A. Fairclough, of Auckland, Dr. J. P. D. Leahy, of Napier, and Dr. H. M. Wilson, of Hastings, returned by the Aorangi yesterday from the Congress of the Australian College of Surgeons at Canberra. Mr. John Barr, Auckland city librarian, will be a passenger by the Aorangi to-morrow for Vancouver, en route to England. Mr. Barr contemplates being abroad for about six months. He will return via South Africa and Australia. Mr. P. Haege, of Melbourne, a frequent competitor in New Zealand lawn tennis tournaments, is a through passenger by the Aorangi. He will compete in the Wimbledon tournament in June. Mr. H. Lewis, general manager of the Commercial Union Assurance Company, Limited, who has been investigating the business affairs of the company in Australia, arrived in Auckland by the Aorangi yesterday.
