KELLY—WHELAN
A charming Victorian gown of ivory satin beaute was worn by Marjorie Ethel, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Whelan, of Epsom, for her wedding in St. Barnabas Church yesterday afternoon to Vincent Owen, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Kelly, also of Epsom. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. E. Bamford, and Mrs. Rowe played appropriate nuptial music at the organ. The bride was given away by her father, and the bridegroom was attended by the bride’s brother, Mr. Leslie Whelan as best man. Crystal beading and exquisite insets of filmy point lace gave added beauty to the attractive bridal gown, which was slightly panniered and finished with a deep petalled hemline. Cut tulle was used for the veil and to form a train, and was held in place with a circlet of orange blossoms, and the bride carried a sheaf of roses, lilies and carnations. Miss Muriel Whelan attended her sister as bridesmaid, wearing a dainty frock of primrose yellow crepe de chine, with deep motifs of lace and net superimposed on the skirt, which was of the graceful uneven variety. She wore a bandeau of gold tissue caught with a single rose and carried a sheaf of autumn flowers. Little Miss Marjorie Butler also attended and wore a pretty frock of leaf green crepe de chine with a bouffant frilled skirt trimmed with embroidered sprays. A wreath of rosebuds was worn in her hair, and she carried a Victorian posy. Mrs. Whelan, the bride’s mother, who wore a smart gown of black crepe faille and a fuchsia toned hat afterwards received a large number of guests at a reception in the Domain Kiosk, which was artistically decorated for the occasion. Mrs. Kelly, the mother of the bridegroom, was wearing a becoming frock of black satin crepe and a black hat.
