PEACE IN THE THE LEVANT
POLICY OF ITALY GRAECO-TURKISH ENTENTE Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright, LONDON, Sunday. The newspaper “Popolo d’ltalia” says Italy is the Mediterranean Power Par excellence, in explaining the Eas ter meeting between the Prime Minister, Signor Mussolini, and the Turkish and Greek Foreign Ministers. It says Signor Mussolini’s only idea Wa s to impress the Ministers with the fact that Italy’s policy in the Levant is peaceful and that she desires their co-operation. The paper says a certain Power Wishes to embroil the Mediterranean Towers with illegitimate objects, but Italy, which has established cordial relations with Spain, now seeks to cooperate with Turkey and Greece. Italy and Turkey understand each other, says the paper. Each possesses a great and heroic chief. Their bieeting will dispose of the myth that Lalv has aggressive designs against Turkey. She is also working to substitute a Graeco-Turkish entente for age-long antagonisms.—Times.
