PROWLER IN PARK

MAN SENT TO PRISON OFFENCE AGAINST CHILDREN “These men are mentally weak; but their weakness is not beyond control.” said Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M.. at the Police Court to-day when James Lawrence Findlay appeared on a charge of committing an offensive act in the presence of children at Victoria Park yesterday. A boy and a girl gave evidence that accused, after committing the offence had offered them money. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that accused had been under suspicion previously, but had not been arrested. “A short term of imprisonment by means adequate for the offence, may serve to wake you up,” said the magistrate to accused. He was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment.
