CHALLENGE TO THE PRESS
HIDING TRUTH ABOUT MEXICO ROMAN CATHOLIC CHARGE By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright, LONDON, Monday The “Daily Express” announces that it has taken up a challenge issued by Roman Catholics to the effect that the British Press is conspiring to suppress the truth about outrages in Mexico. The paper publishes a letter from the Hon. Evan Morgan, son of Viscount Tredegar, in which the Roman Catholics’ suspicion of a Press conspiracy is firmly stated. Photographs of Mexican executions are reproduced in the paper. It announces that it has ordered its New York representative to go to Mexico and makes an unbiased investigation. It also publishes a cablegram from the President of Mexico, General Ellas Calles, denying that atrocities have been committed.—A. and N.Z.
