Strange scenes occurred at the Albert Hall when 1,000 converts —men and women—were publicly baptised in a large tank by Pastor Jeffreys, the founder of the “Four-Square” Gospel Alliance of the British Isles. There were 10,000 spectators. Many “hallelujahs” were uttered as the women converts, attired in white robes and some wearing bathing caps and the men In shorts and white shirts, were completely Immersed. Afterwards they returned to speciallyheated dressing-rooms.—A. and N.Z.
