Flying Train

LATEST AIR MARVEL THREE PLANES COUPLED By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 12.43 p.m. BERLIN, Sunday. A flying train for long distances is the latest amazing aviation plan of Germany. It consists of three airplanes connected with long hawsers and ingenious couplings.

The “locomotive airplane” is a super-powered machine to which others are coupled. The idea is to make possible the construction of giant air-liners, which has hitherto been impracticable, owing to the difficulty of heavily-laden planes in taking off.

A “flying tug” will lift the liners off the slip by a hawser from midair.

The chief pilot, Herr Goebedinkel, will give a public demonstration on Monday, for which he is using two glider machines.—A. and N.Z.
