BRYCE—McFARLANE

A wedding of much interest to Papakura took place on Wednesday evening at Gardner Road Presbyterian Church, Epsom, when Gwenyth Noeline, elder daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McFarlane, and niece of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Widdowson, Great South Road, Papakura, was married to Howard Millen, son of Mr. and Mrs. 33. Bryce, Merivale Avenue, Epsom. The service was conducted by the Rev. Wm. McDonald. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her uncle, Mr. J. Hamon, looked charming in a frock of ivory georgette trimmed with silver lace over pale pink crepe de chine and fashioned on Early Victorian lines. Her veil, which was of Indian hand-em-broidered net, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. The shower bouquet was of white and pink flowers and maiden-hair fern, with silver and pink streamers. Miss Claudia McFarlane, sister of the bride, w’as bridesmaid, and wore .a frock of pale green georgette and gold lace, also expressed in period style. Her head-dress was of green tulle, with a large rosette at the side. She carried a shower bouquet of bronze dahlias and mauve stocks, with gold and mauve streamers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Stuart Bryce. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom’s parents, his mother, Mrs. D. Bryce, receiving the guests wearing a black silk and lace frock. Among those present were:—Mrs. J. T. Widdowson, navy crepe de chine: Mrs. Hamon, floral crepe de chine; Mrs. Torrins, navy silk beaded in white; Miss Kiddell, dove grey charmeuse; Miss Bryce, black lace with red shoulder posy; Miss C. Jackman, mauve georgette frock; Miss F. Jackman, navy blue georgette; Mrs. Tong, Mrs. Webster, Mrs. May, Mrs. Campbell, Miss Tong and Master Peter Torrins. The bride’s travelling frock was of cerise georgette worn with a hat to tone and a black Coney seal coat.
