MRS. J. McDonald

The death occurred on Good Friday of Mrs. Jennie McDonald in her 56tli year, wife of Mr. Alfred McDonald, at her late residence, Princes Street, Otahuhu. Mrs. McDonald resided at Otahuhu for the filled the duties of Mayoress during her husband’s term of office as Mayor from 1917-1921. She rendered exceptionally good service during the epidemic of 1918, and also undertook her full share of the patriotic work during the war. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Otahuhu Croquet Club, and was also an ardent church worker. She was the daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. W. Hogg, a former town clerk to the One Tree Hill Road Board.
