TOUCHED LIVE WIRE
MAN ELECTROCUTED AT TE PUKE DEATH INSTANTANEOUS (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE PUKE, To-day. Accidentally coming into contact with an 11,000-volt power line on Saturday, Mr. James Benjamin Marshall, an electrical worker, aged 53 years, was electrocuted, death being instantaneous. With six other workmen he was wiring a connection to a shed at a flaxmill at Pongakawa, and when on top of a pole he came in contact with the live wire, and was killed immediately, the body being badly burned. He had been employed by the Power Board for several years, and had lived in the Paengaroa and Pongakawa districts for the past 35 years. He was married and had four children. Formal evidence of identification was given at an inquest, which was then adjourned till April 16.
