STATICE FROM SEED Statice or sea lavender is becoming more popular every season. With the j shortage of flowers in the cooler months this flower is invaluable for | house decoration. The blooms will last six months if properly dried off an< ? kept in a vd.se without water. Statice is easily grown from seed sown in boxes and lightly covered over with fine sandy soil. The seeds take about two weeks to germinate, and when large enough should be pricked off into other boxes about two inches apart. In eight weeks from sowing the pla.nts are large enough for bedding out into their permanent position. Seed may be had of-white, blue, rose and yellow.
