MOVIETONE NEWS
FOX’S NEW VENTURE
EXPERIMENTS COMPLETED Fox Movietone News, experiments for which have been conducted for three months, became a permanent institution last year, when issue number one was sent to American exhibitors. According to an announcement by William Fox, president of Fox Film Corporation. the Movietown Xews will be released once each week and the news events throughout the world will be covered. The Movietone Xews department is now functioning at top speed, and the camera staff is being increased steadily. A fleet of high-powered motor-trucks, each equipped with complete Movietone apparatus, is being used for the gathering of subjects to make up the weekly reel. Xot only are these trucks covering the big events of the day in America, but also in Continental Europe and England.
Cameramen and trucks will be stationed in central locations throughout the world, much the same as cameramen are stationed for the regular Fox Xews reel. Events of general interest that are appropriate for Movietone reproduction will be covered everywhere.
