EMPIRE

“THE GAY RETREAT” Gene Cameron has the leading romantic role in Fox Films feature comedy drama, “The Gay Retreat,” now being shown at the Empire Theatre. Sammy Cohen and Ted McNamara, who scored as the laugh producers in “What Price Glory,” are teamed again n this production, and better their former triumph as fun makers. A new “Potash and Perlmutter” picture, entitled “April Fool,” is also being shown. Alexander Carr, whose outstanding screen successes in “Potash and Perlmutter” comedies have made him seem inseparable from those amusing stories, is the star of the picture, which, it is said, offers him a role that is typical of his best-known screen characterisations.
