Brown has rejoined the Kaponga as chief officer, relieving Mr. N. Buxton, who is standing by at \*ellm Mr. U A. P. Cousin has relieved Mr. R. H C Hargreaves as second officer of the Kaponga. The latter officer is awaiting orders at Wellington- . . - Mr. C. Burgess has been appointed chief officer of the Komata, relieving Mr. W. Henderson for holidays.

SYDNEY STEAMERS. —The Maunganui leaves Sydney this afternoon for Auckland and the Mararaa for Wellington. Both the vessels are due at their arrival ports next Monday morning. ARGYLLSHIRE SAILS ON SUNDAY. —The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Argyllshire, at present filling up at Wellington, will leave there at 6 a.m. on Sunday for Hull and London. CANADIAN HIGH LAN DER SAILING. A departure from Auckland at about five o’clock this evening will be the Canadian National Steamships’ steamer Canadian Highlander with a full cargo of New Zealand produce for Montreal via New York and Boston. ARAWA LEAVES COLON —The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have been notified by cablegram that the Arawa left Colon on Sunday afternoon foi Southampton and London, en route from "Wellington. The vessel sailed from Wellington on March 9. HINEMOA FOR NIUE ISLAND. —Spedding, Ltd., advises that the Government steamer Hinemoa will leave Auckland at 3 p.m. next Wednesday, April 11, for Niue Island. Cargo for the Island will be received alongside the vessel all day on Tuesday. TONGARIRO REPORTS.— According to a radio message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company, the steamer Tongariro is expected to arrive at Auckland at 4 p.m. next Monday from Liverpool. The vessel is bringing general cargo for discharge at Auckland, "MV ellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. AORANGI DUE MONDAY. —Leaving Sydney this afternoon for Auckland, the Union Company advises that the R.M.S. Aorangi is due here on Monday morning and will berth at the Prince’s Wharf. At non on Tuesday the Aorangi leaves Auckland for Suva, Honolulu, Victoria and Vancouver. KINTYRE SAILS NEXT WEDNESDAY.—Henderson and Macfarlane advise that the tramp steamer Kintyre is expected to leave Auckland next Wednesday for Wanganui where she will complete her discharge of Ocean Island phosphates. After bunkering at Westport, the vessel then proceeds to Nauru Island to load for Australia.

WAIPAHI SAILING. —At 5 p.m. to-day the local office of the Union Company hopes to dispatch the Island fruit steamer "Waipahi from Auckland for Westport, where she loads coal for Pago Pago. After discharge at Pago Pago, the vessel proceeds to Suva to load fruit for Auckland and is expected to clear the Fijian ■ port on April 27. waihemo arriving.—a further radio message received by the local office of the Union Company states that the trans-Pacific cargo steamer Waihemo is now expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at 4 o’clock this afternoon from the Pacific Coast. She will later berth at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to Wellington, thence New Plymouth, Melbourne and Sydney to complete. PORT NAPIER FURTHER DELAYED. —Advice has been received by Heather. Roberton and Company that the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Napier has been further delayed at Gisborne and now* leaves there on Tuesday evening for Auckland where she is due late Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning to complete her loading. The vessel is to clear Auckland finally on Sundav, April 15, for New York, Boston and London, via Panama.

SCOW MOA SOLD.—The Leyland O Brien Timber Company's scow Moa has been purchased by Messrs. Winstone, Ltd., shingle merchants, and is to be fitted with crude-oil engines. The vessel’s new owners intend to employ the Moa in the Whangaroa-Auckland shingle trade. The Moa, which is the largest vessel of her kind in these waters, was built at Auckland in 1907, and is famed historically because she was the vessel on which Count \on Luckner and his party made their unsuccessful break for liberty in December, 1917. Last year the Moa was dismasted in a severe storm on the East Coast.
