GOOD FRIDAY PICTURES

HAMILTON CRITICISM COMPANY REPLIES (From Our Own Correspondent.) “We desire as much as anyone to keep sacred the holiest of days,” said Mr. H. H.. Howden, chairman of directors of Hamilton Theatres, Ltd., today in replying to criticism of his action in deciding to screen pictures on Good Friday. Application for permission to sliow “The Christian” was mad,e to the Borough Council and granted. Subsequently a public outcry against the council’s action took place. Mr. Howden said the entertainment would be more in the nature of a sacred concert and would not start till 8.30 p.m., so as not to interfere with church services.
