CITY’S AUTUMN DAYS MAGISTRATE’S SYMPATHY “It’s a shame to lock you up in this beautiful sunny weather,” said Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., to a prisoner at the Police Court today. rpiJK prisoner, Daniel Keane, aged ■*- 48, just smiled —lie liad been locked up before. He pleaded guilty to charges of being found on premises without la,wful excuse, and resisting arrest. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that accused had been found sleeping in an empty house. When roused by a constable, he resisted arrest. “He has a long list, and has been convicted three times within a year for being on premises,” said Mr. McCarthy. In sentencing accused to seven days’ imprisonment, the magistrate counselled him to find work when released.
