MUNICIPAL MARKET MAKES SMALL PROFIT

CHRISTCHURCH INNOVATION Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The municipal market inaugurated by the vote of the Labour majority of the City Council has shown a profit of £SO 19s 3d since it was opened for business on December 19 up to March 31, according to a return submitted to tne council. The rent paid to the electricity department for the section during this period with £146 2s. Previously the section was lying idle. The capital expenditure has been £455 3s 6d. Receipts totalled £2BB 10s, and expenditure £237 10s 9d during the period under review. The balance-sheet makes no allowance for depreciation dn the temporary buildings of the market, and taking the value of the section at £9,000, the rent provided interest on that amount at a rate of £ 5 14s 3d per cent, per annum.
