Far better ] always to have the sump full or | nearly full and so give the oil a chance j to be kept at a reasonable tempera- ! ture. J A statute in lowa (U.S.A.) makes it an offence to possess a car from which the engine number or serial number has been removed. The regulation is aimed at dealers who encourage car thieves by buying any car offered without inquiring into its history. It is stated that less than a pound of pressure was lost in an American demonstration of a puncture-proof preparation, when 987 rails ’were driven into the tyre.
