STARTER SWITCH CONTACTS

The contacts of the electric starter switch should be periodically examined as they are liable to become pitted through the sparking which takes place each time the circuit is broken w'hen using the starter. Emery cloth may be used to clean up the contact surfaces. The tw’O set screws, mounted at each side of the flange, should be removed to allow inspection to be made, and'the tension of the plunger spring may be tested at the same time to ensure the contacts are clear each time the plunger is brought out of action.
