PIGEON FLYING
ONEHUNGA CLUB The Onehunga Racing Pigeon Club flew its second race of the third series from Poro-a-tarao, an airline distance of 115 miles. The winner was V. Carden’s red hen Lady Ivanhoe, which recorded a velocity of I,Booyds a minute. This is a record speed. Results are as follow: V. Carden’s r h Lady Ivanhoe, I,Booyds a minute, 1; W. HAMILTON CLUB The Hamilton Homing Pigeon Club flew a race from Hunterville to Hamilton on Saturday, 42 birds competing. Results were: Mayer and Macullum’s Martilus, 1,476yds a minute, 1; A. Sharpe’s Miss Oakland, 1,474yd5, 2; Ashton Bros.’ Baldy, 1,465yd5, 3. This week’s race is to be flown from Feilding. The Hamilton Junior Club flew a race from Ohakune. in which 28 birds Took part.
