This yeax all were to be replaced in the fortnight preceding that date. Licences will run until May 31 of next ■ year. So far only about 10,000 driving licences have been issued by the tralfi*; department. As there are on ar. average two drivers to every car, it will be seen that there are many yet to register. The department expects to be busy for over a week. Many local authorities are issuing [ licences and helping the city traffic I officials to hurry through their lengthy itask.
