technical school STAGES ATHLETICS BIG DAY AT DOMAIN Ideal weather conditions and a good attendance of parents and friends favoured the annual athletic sports of the Seddon Memorial Technical College, held on the Auckland Domain totrack was in a good condition and the close finishes and smart times registered was an indication of the keenness displayed by the competitors. During the morning heats were run off, while this afternoon the finals were held. , . _ In the 440yds senior championship P. Darley broke the previous school record of 55 2-ss, by two-fifths of a second. The race was very close. Darley was running second till the straight was reached, and then took the lead, finishing strongly. One of the most interesting and amusing- events of the day was the girls' race on stilts. This is a novelty in school sports, and it provided the onlookers with much amusement. Following are the results: BOYS’ EVENTS 440yds Junior Handicap.— Lowther, 1; Patterson, 2.
