SAVING BUSH AREAS
A public meeting will be held in the chamber of Commerce to-morrow evening to discuss the preservation of • hush areas, which it is considered are ; or may be national assets. The meeting will be under the direci t l° n of the New Zealand Institute of j Horticulture. The Auckland Bistrict i Council has secured an option at a gift price of an area of virgin kauri and mixed forest at Waimauku, within a mile of the main road to the Muriwai Beach, and two and a-half miles from the railway. Funds are required to save this area, and a public expression * of opinion is desired.
