INCREASED BUSINESS BANKING SCRIP FIRM Compared with the week's earlier rails, business on ’Change at tcflWay s mid-day call was brisk. Banks were activ e, and New South Wales improved to see sales at £48 7s 6d. Commercials were done at 2Ss. Insurance scrip is steady, with most -hares wanted on an unchanged market. In coals, Westport-Stocktons are active on a rising market. The prefercnee scrip was done at 3s 6d, sellers withdrawing to 4s at the last call. New Zealand Breweries are firm, and with sellers hard to locate, buyers are offering 44s 9d. Sugars also register a rising tendency, sellers at £60 being supported by buyers at £58 5s. The market for Government and local body debentures remains in good tone, with a steady volume of business being registered.
