Rotorua Club (From Our Own*'Correspondent.). ROTORUA, Monday. The annual meeting of the Rotorua I Golf Club took place last Friday even- j ing. There was a good attendance ; of members. The president, Mr. W. ' W. P. Hall, was chairman. The following officers for the ensu- 1 ing year were elected: President, Mr. W. W. P. Hall; vice-presidents, Mr. F. W. Wilkie and Mr. D. Hay; cap- j tain, Mr. Charles. Kusabs; vice-cap-tain, Mr. E. C. Carr; committee, Messrs M. Carr, E. La Trobe Hill, C. Gee, A. Walden, C. Redhead and R. C. Smith; secretary, Mr. A. W. Shaw; auditor, Mr. Buddie. Life memberships were conferred on Mr. Cnarles Redhead and Mr. Harold B. Lusk in recognition of their great services to the club. There was ideal weather for the official opening of the club on Saturday afternoon, about 50 members and visitors taking part in foursomes. The president officially opened the links. Following were the leading cards: Miss McHardie and J. Hulton, 7—61, 54; Miss C. Moore and C. Tattersall. 9—65, 56; Mrs Goudie and C. H. Worthington, S—67, 59; Mrs. Worthington and C. H. Redhead, 11—70, 59; Miss Newton and Morrice, 9—6 S, 59; Mrs. Parata and J. Sheri'iff, 5 —66, 61. Glendowie Ladies’ Club The members of the Glendowie Ladies’ Club opened the season with a Canadian foursomes medal competition, which was won by Mrs. Stanley ‘and Miss O. English. The following were the best cards: Mrs. Stanley and Miss O. English, 100—21, 79; Mrs. Dickey and Miss D. Scott, 106 —25, 81; Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Miller, 104 —22, 82; Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. McMillan, 102— 17, 85; Miss Cullen and Miss Meadows, 120—35, 85. Pupuke Club The Pupuke Golf Club held its official opening for the season on Saturday afternoon. There were over* 100 members present, and mixed foursomes were played. The winner-s were Mrs. Graven and F. IT. Mingay, who returned a card of 58 net. The next best net cai'ds were:—Miss Pai'ker and E. E. Grimwade, 59; Mrs. P. Foot and B. Goldwater, 59]!;; Miss Dunnett and I. G. Mackenzie, 64. B. Hunt, a new member of the club, was successful in holing the short ,15th hole in one. Mr. Hunt’s handicap is 24. Hamilton Results (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday. A medal handicap played on the St. Andrew’s links at Hamilton resulted in a win for G. Hovey (handicap 24), with a gross score of 92. Other cards were: J. F. Strang, 87 — 16, 71; W. J. King, 93—20, 73; E. Wilson, 89—16, 73; H. Eiby, 96—22, 74; N. Johnson. 98—24, 74; W. Kirkman, 92 —IS, 74. » The links are in good condition. Following the dry weather after Christmas most of the rough was burned out. With the subsequent l'ain the grass has come away well, and, as the club has imported a motor quintiple mower, the links should be kept in splendid order. Taihape Club (From Our Oivn Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, Monday. The Taihape Golf Club’s season was officially opened by the club patron, Mr. W. S. Glenn, M.P., who congratulated the club on the great progress it had made since its inception, and wished members a very successful season. The pi'esident, Mr. F. J. Hintz, said he was glad to see such a lai'ge and enthusiastic gathering present, and hoped the club would make as much progress in the future as in the past. Mixed foursomes were played. Tauranga Ladies’ Club (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAURANGA Monday. At the annual meeting of lady —lembei’s of the Tauranga Golf Club the following officers were elected: President, Mrs. B. V. Hanna; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames E. T. Baker an-' E. W. Beckett, and Miss Cameron; captain, Mrs. G. Henderson; secretary, Miss F. Goodyear; committee, Mrs. G. Rodgers, Misses Mountfort. J. Mall, Humfreys, E. Goodyear. The club’s links at Gate Pa will be reopened for play during the J-aster holidays, although the official opening will not take place until April 14. Notwithstanding the long spell of dry weather the greens are in very fair order, and the club is looking forward to a record season.
