TRAGEDY DISTURBS PRESIDENCY FIGHT
CAMPAIGNER’S DEATH COLLAPSE DURING SPEECH By Cable.-—Press Association. — Copyright. NEW YORK, Saturday. A note of tragedy entered the Presidential campaign to-day with the sudden death of Senator F. B. Willis, one of the Reupblican candidates for nomination. Mr. Willis was delivering an address at Delaware, Ohio, his own constituency, and was attacking the standing in the Republican Party of Mr. H. C. Hoover, Secretary of Commerce, who is also a candidate. Suddenly Mr. Willis said to a person close by: “I feel very ill.” He then collapsed and died immediately. The cause of death was cerebral hemmorhage. The incident will no doubt affect Mr. Hoover’s campaign interests in Ohio. —A. and N.Z. Mr. Frank Bartlette Willis was born in IS7I and was educated at Ohio University, of which institution he became professor of history and economics and later of law for the period 1894-1906. He was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, 1900-4, member of the Congress, 1911-5, Governor of Ohio, 1915-7,- and senator representing Delaware since 1921.
