MR. LUXFORD, S.M., PRESIDES AT ONEHUNGA

CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED Mr. J. TI. Luxford, who was recently appointed to the Auckland magisterial Bench, took his scat at the Onrliunga Police Court this morning and was welcomed on behalf of the Bar by Mr. M. J. Rogers. Mr. J. Laking, J.P., representing the Justices of the Peace, and Sergeant Cruikshank the police, also congratulated Mr. Luxford on his appoinement and assured him of their co-operation and support. Mr. Luxford, in returning thanks for the cordial welcome, expressed the hope that justice would always be dealt impartially at his hand and that the friendly relations between Bench, Bar, justices of the peace and police would continue. Ho also referred to the great usefulness of the members of the commission of the peace, in whose hands, he said, the law and order of the community was largely placed.
