SOLUBILITY OF FERTILISERS
AN INTERESTING TABLE A recent bulletin issued by.the ‘University of Leeds and which deals with the improvement of poor pasture in Yorkshire, contains the following information concerning the length of time required for different phosphatic manures to reach their maximum effect: — The table reads: High grade slag, 2 to 3 year^. Low grade slag (low citric solubility), 2 to 3 years. Low grade slaw (Low citric solubility), 3 to 4 years. Gafsa phosphate, 4 to 6 years. Tunisian phosphate, 4 to 6 years. Nauru phosphate, 4 to 6 years. The above list is by- no means complete, but represents the various forms of phosphatic manures tried out by the University Council.
