FULL LIST OF FIXTURES MANY VISITORS EXPECTED Given the. fine weather that was experienced last year, the greater part of Auckland’s population will undoubtedly' celebrate Easter out of doors’. • Uaster 4s .nominally regarded as the final wind-dp of' the summer season, and opportunity of the few days’ break will certainly be taken by most people to utilise the last days of summer to the best advantage. Athletic, and .sporting fixtures easily head the bill of Easter attractions. On Easter Saturday sports meetings will be held at Otorohanga, where the ninth annual meeting of the Te Kuiti Friendly Societies, will take place, Donnelly’s Crossing, Waihi, and Warkworth, the latter place being the venue of the Warkwortli sports and axemen’s carnival. On Good Friday an event of great interest to all tennis enthusiasts, the North Island tennis championships, will commence at the Te Aroha Club’s courts, under the auspices of the Thames Valley Lawn Tennis Association, and will continue on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday. Commencing on Good Friday, an Easter handicap tournament will also be played at Northeote,- under the auspices of the Birkenhead and Northeote Tennis Club. For the racing community, the big Easter event will be the Auckland Racing Club’s autumn meeting, to be held on Saturday and Monday of Easter week. This fixture never fails to attract a large number of visitors to the city, arid hotels and boarding houses are preparing for a busy week-end. The Hawera Trotting Club’s autumn meeting- is also set down for Saturday and Monday, and this may prove an attraction for Auckland patrons of the light harness sport who might desire to venture further afield. Filling in.the evenings will not prove a difficult task. Special holiday programmes are being arranged at all Auckland picture theatres, and at His Majesty’s Theatre Maurice Moscovitch will open with “The Ringer,” under the auspices of Messrs. J. C. Williamson. Ltd. Auckland’s many dance halls and cabarets will also be in operation for the benefit of those on pleasure bent. .
