DARGAVILLE PRESENTATION
POPULAR PARISH PRIEST Regret at the impending departure of Father Devoider, who is leaving Dargaville on Monday for a trip to Holland, was fittingly expressd by Mr. A. J. Martin, on behalf of the local parishioners and townspeople in general, at a largely attended farewell function in the Hibernian Hall on Wednesday evening. In handing Father Devolder a purse of notes, Mr. Martin wished hjjn a pleasant holiday and hopt-d he would again return to them. Ilis remarks were endorsed by the Mayor, Mr. F. A. Jones. Mr. S. Burdett, president of the local Hibernians, presented Fa ther Devolder with an engraved gold jewel of the Order; Miss E. Jones also made a presentation on behalf of the Children of Mary and Rev. Father Westiende. Father Devolder suitably replied.
