AUCKLAND GUN CLUB

PIGEON-SHOOTING MATCH A noted American shot, Dr. Claunch, lived up to his reputation at Panmure on Wednesday, at the Auckland Gun Club’s meeting. The first match was divided by J. Williamson (29yds), Dr. Claunch v24yds), F. E. McKenzie (22yds), and I. Lomas (22vds), with the possible of 5. The second match was won outright by Dr. Claunch (27yds), with the possible of 5. F. U. Seccombe (30yds), J. Williamson (30yds), W. E. Grant 25yds), R. H. Montgomery (22yds) and D. Cairns (22yds) tied for second place, with lour kills. Montgomery won the shoot-off. The seven-bird match resulted in a tie between W. Fairley (11yds), Dr. Claunch 17yds), A. E. Macredie (19yds) and W. Grant (15yds). They shot off, each shooter going back a yard every shot. Dr. Claunch missed the ninth bird. Macredie the 11th, Grant the 15th, Fairley thus scoring a popular win off 19yds.
