LONG-LIFE RECIPE
HOW TO LIVE TO 106 Mr. William Walker, of 6 Headon Terrace Nottingham, reached the age of 106 recently. He was born in the reign of George IV. In reply to a telegram which he sent to the King and Queen from their Majesties’ “oldest subject” he received the following reply from Sandringham: “The King and Queen thank you for your message and send you their best wishes on this great anniversary in your life. Their Majesties hope you are enjoying good health and happiness.” Mr. Walker was visited by the Mayor and Sheriff of Nottingham, both of whom gave him presents, and by three members of the City Council. He was a bricklayer, and worked at his trade until he was 80. His mental faculties are still clear. He said: “If you work hard, get plenty of play, and have good, plain victuals, there is no reason why you should not live to my age.”
